Ok, so it’s cool to play music, tour, work on recordings, teach, preach etc. etc. I’m very aware of how blessed I am that the Lord let’s me do the things I do. But to also maintain over-all health you’ve got to get out of your drum room, studio, or band jobs and do some other physical things. Eating right, exercise, and other interest will help your mental perspective AND keep your body in good playing condition. I don’t have one specific routine, and I’m by no means a work-out champion… but I’m always mindful of trying to take care of this “machine” the Lord has put me in… Our “earthen vessels” are amazing and yet delicate. If you fall in & out of good healthy routines don’t give up… just start again & again until it becomes more common for you to make healthy choices. I can’t say enough about asking for the Lord’s help in this matter. HE does give us strength for each day, and the wisdom to live well. I talk to the Lord about everyday choices and the “common” things of life just like I would the “BIG” spiritual issues. To those that live by the Spirit, everything is spiritual! Blessings on your journey! Watch this glimpse at one of my better choices…
Hi Carl,
Love the 5 stroke roll video. The song is great! My mom passed away several days after your clinic in Durham 2011. She was my best friend. I have always loves Paul’s songs, but now they really touch me even more. Carl, you ware talking about nutrition and exercise. Have you heard of Kangen water? I bought a machine three months ago. The machine increases water Ph and alkalinity. I have heard so many great stories of this water actually resolving cancer. Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel prize in ’42. He found the cause of cancer. He advised cancer can only grown in acidic environments. You can view some videos on YouTube by Michael Kinnett or visit Kangen.net. If you have any questions, let me know. I have learned so much from you. I thank you for being genuine and such a cool guy to follow. I am 51 and have played since I was 6, but I still learn each day and will continue. May God continue to bless you and the band. Tim
Hi Tim, thanks so much for your kind note. I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. A loved ones death is such a huge trial to walk thru. / May the Lord give you grace for your journey. // Health is a big issue to me. Having survived a heart attack 5 years ago, I’m always aware of how to take better care of my “temple.” I’ve heard that information about water & acidic problems. I’ll check it out. // Yes, we can always learn something. The Lord provides wisdom as we attain knowledge. Blessings, Carl
hey thanks carl for your advice.
Shalom& Blessings

Hey Carl,
You have inspired me to start exercising. My wife has been trying to get me to Zumba class. I told her that’s not happening. But walking, ab exercises, and jamming out on my kit works really well. My youngest daughter is learning to ride her bike without training wheels. I made a deal with her to buy myself a bike and ride with her. Think it’s about time to get out and start rolling. Gotta keep the beat going, smooth and steady.
Thank-you for being a great “elder brother.” LOL
God Bless You,
John
