It’s not often I get to use Jeff’s classic shuffle groove in modern worship. Here’s a look back at a recording we did with Ron Kenoly where I gave it my best shot. Sorry the video didn’t capture many drum kit shots… Salute to Tom Brooks – Keys/Producer ; Abe Laboriel – Bass ; Paul Jackson Jr. – Electric Guitar ; Eric Darken – Percussion ; Liberty University Orchestra & Choir

Excellent Carl!!! I think Jeff would like it : )
Ah thanks my friend! Glad you liked it.
Sounds like you nailed it! Sometimes, trying to shuffle at a slower tempo like that gives me some trouble; but, you played it well.
Thanks so much. Yea,, it’s kind of a slower version of the Rosanna feel…. w/ a few changes of course.
Are we talking about the Lido Shuffle, as noted here: http://www.groovelibrary.blogspot.com/
Yes, Very similar to that groove and others like it. I try to get my students to master that…. even if they don’t see it much in modern worship. It’s a necessary part of every drummers vocabulary.
Blessings, Carl
There is absolutely nothin that I don’t like about that cut ! The mix , the arrangement , the guitar , the B , the piano , sparse bass , dynamite back up vocals, sound of the snare . Tight band ! I like the idea of our King returning , too ! How long ago was that ? Is that cut available on a CD ?
WOW, thanks Doc. So glad you dig it. It’s on an older Hosanna Integrity release called “Majesty” by Ron Kenoly. Not sure where it can be found at this point. Blessings, Carl
the truth is that Mr. Carl has gone and we are just trying to discover why we are really drumming… well, what is in my mind is that Carl has Gone i just wanna tell Him that as far as i’m drumming for the glorification of God’s name and to promote His king In heaven and here on Earth, i will surely as God liveth drum with Carl Albretcht…. He’s my only mentor that i;m learning from cos He boost my relationship with God… i love Carl..
Hi Peter… well I’m still here. 🙂 Not sure what your note meant. Sorry if I did not understand. Keep drumming for His glory. Blessings, Carl **Still alive & well!”
